Pay back our tax money

The Nkandla Report

Arial photograph of the Nkandla mansion.
Who on earth would build such a huge house using the states money, I mean did the President think he was going to get away with it ? I did not think so.  As a leader, the President was not being transparent by denying and not acknowledging that he was indeed aware of the upgrades that were taking place at his homestead.

The President stole R247 million, tax money that was initially supposed to be used to build schools, new/renew roads, hospital and aid job creation. This was very selfish of him and displayed immense greed on top of the benefits and privileges he is entailed to I believe he did not need upgrades to his home, it is the last thing that is expected from a leader of a nation.

I am telling you that the President abused his power by taking from people who put him in that position in the first place, I say that it was wrong of the President  to choose not to admit to stealing the money .What he did was unethical and was more than just a security upgrade, this is pure corruption nothing more and nothing less.

I don’t understand why government management receives the amount of privileges and benefits that they do. They certainly don’t need it as much as the citizens of this country. Poverty is at a high rate in South Africa and surely the President is aware of this issue. Instead of investing money into schools and proper health care especially in the rural areas, he decides to build a mansion, and for what? How can leader live with himself in his luxurious lifestyle while his people, the people that gave him that position, are suffering?  He needs to make some changes by implementing the plans that he’s always promising to deliver. Or maybe a new leader, someone with a better understanding of what a leader is, should be put in Jacob Zuma’s place.

The water waster goes viral.

The ice bucket challenge

Joey De Leon has something to say
The ice bucket challenge was initially intended to raise awareness of the disease ALS and encourage donations towards research.

I must say it was one of those thoughtful ideas which weren’t quite thought,  it resulted in a waste of water as well. It didn’t really generate many donations as many people opted to (when nominated) do the ice bucket challenge instead of donating so it unfortunately became a social activity which people took part in for the views and likes. Thus forgetting the core reason which was raising funds for research.

How the ice bucket challenge affects some people
There are celebrities and those who did both (participate and donate) but majority of participants took part as it was popular on social media (regardless of whether they had been nominated or not) others hadn’t the slightest idea why there was even an ice bucket challenge.
The campaign was a great idea but sadly like most ideas (i.e. #bring back our girls) with a good cause got sabotaged by social network. Overall it was a success thankfully to those who took part with the intention of helping out.

However I think that the ice water bucket challenge is a fun challenge to partake in but, it is only normal for people to have fun in an environmentally friendly way. Humour is needed amongst human beings but sometimes you will find  out that other people will not react as expected towards the challenge hence these people pour water on anyone which is totally wrong. Yes it is fun making other people look stupid but it is not fun when violence then takes place cause such things cause conflict among people. Besides conflict and all water being wasted! I mean… come to think that some people out there do not have water then you find that one fool who decides to go around throwing water on people’s heads. I think it would be advisable if everyone appreciated water and used it for all the good reasons.
